Time Line
Aristocratic buildings with military scope,
basically a town within the town, with the shape of a tower (Torre), were located on the top of today Torrione area of Vizzini.
Val di Noto earthquake
The earthquake destroyed the majority of the Val di Noto and towns were reconstructed in the fashionable style of the time, today UNESCO protected Sicilian baroque.
Part of the previously surviving buildings owned by Aristocratic families Verga, Maggiore and Gandolfo on the top of the hill were reunited and reshaped into a
single aristocratic palace.
An extensive renovation of the full area in baroque
style took place.
Palaces entrances were moved from the south area to the north area of Torrione, which was reshaped
by a famous architect.
Property of the aristocratic families Maggiore di Santa Barbara and Gandolfo.
The building went through 2 major restorations, the last one at the beginning of the XIX century for a wedding party.
Property acquired from different owners
and re-united.
The palace, divided into several owners belonging to the aristocratic families was finally acquired and reunited as a single property by a North Italian investor.
SInce then, the palace, in good conditions, was partially renovated and used to welcome international guests.

We are a young family from North of Italy.
We purchased the first part of this building around 15 years ago.
We lived abroad most of our life and now live far away.
The palace is extremely large, so we decided to sell a part of it. We love this place and we will keep our favorite apartment.
The incoming funds will be used to renovate our part.
We love history, art, ricotta from Vizzini, the local welcoming people…we appreciate the amazing beauty that Sicily can give to open minded foreigners and we want to share our positive experience with new and interesting neighbors.
